Event Description

LEXINGTON – The Bureau of Land Management is proud to partner with Mustang Champions to showcase the trainability and value of America’s wild horses at the second annual Mustang Classic, a national training competition taking place Sept. 4-6 at the Kentucky Horse Park, Rolex Stadium in Lexington.

The Mustang Classic is a one-of-a-kind, family-friendly event that brings together skilled competitors and their adopted wild horses, all working to demonstrate the power of compassion, patience, and partnership. Contestants will showcase their horses in a series of disciplines, highlighting the animals' versatility and trainability.

The competition serves as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the unique qualities of wild horses, their trainability, and the importance of finding them caring, permanent homes in private care. Spectators will witness incredible transformations and learn about the BLM’s Wild Horse and Burro Program, which is dedicated to the care and management of America’s wild horses and burros.

“The Mustang Classic is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of the human-horse connection,” said Annie Ebbers, off-range branch chief for the BLM’s National Wild Horse and Burro Program. “Through our partnership with Mustang Champions, we’re highlighting the incredible value of these animals and inspiring the public to consider adoption.”
