Accessibility Description (ABA/ADA)

Cell phone reception is spotty throughout this site.
Near the campground entrance is a kiosk with site and safety information, a fee-payment box, and a nearby picnic table, all sitting on natural surface. The signs and pay box are several feet in from the curb surrounding it, likely making it challenging to access from a wheelchair. Another fee box is near the boat launch. A curb separates it from the paved area, but it may be accessible from a wheelchair or a vehicle.
The large, paved and striped parking area has 250 spaces, including a lot for trailers and ample parking near the day-use area on the southwest peninsula near the boat ramp. Of these spaces 14 are painted and marked as accessible, and 3 have access aisles for wheelchair vans.
Two dumpsters sit across from the information kiosk and pay box with a curb in front, curb and parking behind, and a sidewalk to the left. Visitors using wheelchairs may be able to access the dumpsters using the sidewalk.
The site has 4 restroom facilities. Concrete sidewalks connect 1 restroom facility to the main parking area and 1 to the day-use parking area near the boat launch. A building with shower tokens is next to the main restroom facility. While it sits on a concrete slab, it has no sidewalk and is connected to parking and the restroom/shower building via packed gravel, which could be challenging to people using wheelchairs.
The other 2 restroom facilities are down dirt trails along the northern spit and may have a lip from the ground to the concrete pad near the toilet entrance. The closer facility has nearby parking, but the pathway is over fairly rough ground.
Each restroom facility has 2 stalls with flush toilets, 1 of which is accessible, and sinks that can accommodate wheelchair users. Each building also has separate entrances for 2-3 general use showers and 1 accessible shower. Outside each building is a water spigot with a twist on/off mechanism sitting on packed gravel in a brick or concrete ring. The main restroom facility has a bench with no arms near the entrance to the showers.
There are about 125 individual campsites, with separate sections for larger campers, sprinter vans, and small trailers off the main parking lot. Parking curbs are scattered around with few ramps, but many of the sites are on flat ground appropriate for mobility device users. There are also many dispersed walk-in tent campsites, which may be less suitable for visitors with limited mobility. Campsites do not have water or electrical hookups.
Concrete picnic tables with recessed legs that can accommodate wheelchair users are found in campsites and the day use area. There is a mixture of taller pedestal grills and shorter fire rings with grill attachments throughout the site. Curbing and gravel in the day-use area may pose a challenge to visitors with mobility impairments.
The boat ramp in the southern portion of the site is paved and there are concrete boarding piers stretching out into the water on either side of the ramp. The piers may be able to accommodate some mobility devices; however, they do not have protective railings or bumpers. Southwest of these piers, near the day-use parking area, there is another, smaller concrete ramp for canoes and kayaks.
