Moonflower Canyon Group Site
Overview
Moonflower Day Use Site is located at the mouth of a shady canyon across from the Colorado River. A short hiking trail leads to a cool oasis deeper in the canyon and an ancient rock imagery panel on the walls near the entrance has become a popular attraction for many visitors. Large cottonwoods provided ample shade. Historic and pre-historick rock images are on nearby canyon walls. It is the perfect place for a small ceremony or gathering. There are picnic tables, and a parking area with vault toilet that is shared by the Moonflower trailhead. Please respect our cultural heritage and do not touch or damage the petroglyphs.
This is a reservable day-use (not camping) site up to five days before your intended date. Users may reserve this site at recreation.gov. If the site is not reserved, it becomes first-come, first-served.
