Crescent Sand Dunes | Nevada
Crescent Sand Dunes Special Recreation Management Area is located west of Tonopah, Nevada. These dunes are known as singing sand dunes, one of three in Nevada, and one of thirty in the world. Crescent Sand Dunes is frequently used for Off-Road Vehicle (OHV) riding.
There are plenty of OHV trails. Visitors can also to explore the dunes on foot. There are three picnic tables with metal fire rings. Don't drive off the roads or on the dunes. Lots of animals live in burrows or in the vegetation. Don't damage their home or impact there their food source. OHV travel is limited to existing roads and trails. OHV use on un-vegetative sand areas is allowed.
To get there, four-wheel drive vehicles are strongly recommended but two-wheel drive vehicles may also reach the site in optimal conditions.
There are three picnic tables with metal fire rings next to them so you can enjoy your time out at the dunes, but remember that if you, "Pack it in, Pack it out." Leave No Trace. There are no trash cans at Crescent Sand Dunes Recreation Management Area. So, bring a trash bag and keep the dunes litter free. Thank you!

From Tonopah head US 6 West/95 North turn right between mile marker 55 and 54 onto Poleline Road and travel approximately 9 miles site will be on your left and will consist of a 2 mile unimproved dirt road to the site. Caution should be used in the area as vehicles can get stuck easily in the sand around the Dunes.
