Chosa Draw

Chosa Campground obtained its name from Chosa Draw, which is 0.8 miles southeast of this site, and well known for its gypsum karst cave systems. As this site is situated within the gypsum karst ecosystem, many unique habitat features exist that are within walking distance of the campground. Some of these features include flora such as gypsum grama as well as natural formations like the various springs which are a true jewel of the Chihuahuan Desert. The riparian channels associated with the springs provide a home to the various wildlife species that grace the desert, providing a glimpse into the hidden beauty of the desert landscape.
