Bradfield Recreation Site | Colorado
Bradfield is a large, open campground with a day use area and boat ramp. There are 17 designated camping spurs with picnic tables and fire rings. Ten of the sites have shade structures and one site is fully accessible for those with disabilities. There are two vault restrooms and two potable water hand pumps (seasonally operational, generally April 1st -Sept 30th). There is also an additional camping loop geared toward more dispersed camping for equestrian users (a rustic and un-maintained non-motorized trail leads downriver from here for about 8 miles, with several river crossings). The day use area has three picnic tables and shade trees. There is an $8/night camping fee on a first come first served basis. The busiest time of year is when there is a 'boatable release' on the lower Dolores from McPhee Reservoir, generally mid-April to mid-June. For more information, please contact the Tres Rios Field Office.

There is no cell phone coverage at this site.
Access to the site is on a rough but passable gravel road off Highway 491. The surface of the recreation site as a whole is flat, packed gravel.
The gravel lot for the day-use area, in the southern part of the site, has room for about 20 vehicles. Although it doesn't have designated accessible spaces, the entire lot should be appropriate for mobility device users. North of the day-use area are 2 camping loops with a total of 19 campsites, each of which accommodates 2 vehicles. The parking spurs are packed gravel except for the accessible campsite (#16), which is concrete.
A kiosk with site and safety information and a fee-payment tube sit on concrete near the camping loop closer to the day-use area. In the day-use area itself, 2 shade shelters each cover a picnic table sitting on gravel. The tables have recessed legs that can accommodate wheelchair users at either end.
There are 2 double-vault toilets, 1 for each of the camping loops. A 5-foot-wide concrete path connects accessible campsite #16 and its concrete parking spur to the northern toilet. The southern toilet has gravel parking next to it, and erosion may cause a lip near the entrance.
Potable water is available from 1 spigot, operated by a hand pump, from March through September 30 each year. The spigot sits on a concrete pad, which may have a lip due to erosion.
At the accessible campsite (#16), the shade shelter covers a picnic table with recessed legs. The picnic table and fire ring sit on a concrete pad, which connects to the parking spur and to a concrete sidewalk leading to the northern toilet. There is a crack where the sidewalk meets the parking pad. This campsite does not have a tent pad.
The other campsites have shade shelters covering a picnic table with recessed legs sitting on gravel. Except for campsite 17, these other sites also have a fire ring with grill attachment sitting on a concrete pad.
There is no accessible trail to the river.
