Public Input & Actions

BLM publishes proposed and final rules in the Federal Register and carries out environmental reviews in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act. Announcing and explaining bureau plans and proposals and providing the public an opportunity to comment on proposed actions is an important part of informed management. We encourage citizens to make their voices heard on the issues that are important to them.

Stage 1 Fire Restrictions begin in central and northwestern Nevada

Due to increasing fire danger, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions go into effect in central and northwestern Nevada starting Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Restrictions apply to public lands and unincorporated private lands.

A 30-day comment period starts today for the Blue Diamond Hill Reroute and Signage Project near Red Rock Canyon NCA. The project reroutes a trail section and adds way-finding signage. The comment period closes 7/23/25.

BLM approves gold exploration project in Goldfield mining district

With this approval, Gemfield Resources, LLC, may conduct geophysical surveys, improve or build access roads, perform exploratory drilling and trenching, and eventually return the land to its original state.
