The Bureau of Land Management’s Missoula Field Office is excited to announce its decision to move forward with acquiring the first parcel of land authorized under the Gold and Twin Creek Acquisition Environmental Assessment, made possible with support from the Land and Water Conservation Fund

The Bureau of Land Management is issuing fire restrictions for northeast California public lands managed by the Applegate and Eagle Lake field offices in Lassen, Modoc, Plumas, Sierra, Siskiyou and Shasta counties in California and Washoe County, Nevada beginning Monday, July 15.  These seasonal restrictions listed in the fire order will be in place to help prevent wildfire and will remain in effect until further notice. These restrictions are in addition to the BLM year-round statewide fire prevention order.

As a result of the Salt Creek Fire, the Bureau of Land Management Butte Falls Field Office has temporarily closed BLM-managed lands in the area for public and firefighter safety.

The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on a proposal to sell seven parcels of public land, totaling 571 acres, in Lincoln and White Pine counties.

Today’s procedural step formalizes action first announced in December; Agencies to continue work with Tribes, cooperating agencies, and other stakeholders on developing an updated approach for management of lands in the planning area.

These restrictions are in addition to the BLM year-round statewide fire prevention order.

The BLM’s Southeast Oregon Resource Advisory Council will meet virtually on Monday, August 12, 2024, from 9 a.m. to noon Pacific Daylight Time (PT). The public is welcome to attend the virtual meeting.
