The BLM invites public input on a proposal to sell approximately 249 acres of BLM-administered public lands in Nye County roughly 64 miles southwest of Ely. Comments are needed on or before Aug. 12, 2024.

As a result of the Upper Applegate Fire, the BLM has temporarily closed BLM-managed lands in the area for public and firefighter safety. Members of the public may not enter closed areas, and all uses are prohibited.

Due to dry conditions and increasing fire danger, the Bureau of Land Management is placing stage 1 fire restrictions on public lands in the following counties: Crook, Niobrara, Weston, Goshen, and Platte.

The BLM Montana/Dakotas State Office opened a 30-day public scoping period on 13 Montana oil and gas parcels under consideration for a January 2025 lease sale. The comment period ends July 26, 2024.

BISHOP, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management is issuing fire restrictions for all public lands managed by the Bishop Field Office effective Monday, July 1, due to dry conditions and wildland fire danger. These seasonal restrictions are in addition to the year-round statewide fire prevention order. This seasonal fire order will remain in effect until further notice.

REDDING, Calif. – The Bureau of Land Management today announced the proposed Northwest California Integrated Resource Management Plan and Final Environmental Impact Statement, updating management for public lands in BLM’s Arcata and Redding field offices. If finalized, the plan will guide management of approximately 382,200 acres of BLM-managed public land and approximately 295,100 acres of subsurface minerals in Butte, Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity counties for the next 15 to 20 years.
