MORENO VALLEY, Calif. - The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will host a wild horse and burro adoption on March 12, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Double 6 Ranch, 23722 Yucca Loma Rd., Apple Valley, Calif.

The BLM will offer six to eight wild horses and ten to sixteen burros gentled through the Burro Incentive Program. Animals are available on a first-come first-served basis for a $125 adoption fee. The adoption is in conjunction with the Extreme Cowboy Race supporting the Wounded Warriors program as well as special needs families.

Horses and burros up for adoption are from public land ranges in California. They were removed from the range in the BLM's work to manage wild populations at sustainable levels.
