UPDATE: Log Gulch, Departure Point campgrounds on Holter Lake closed for paving project

(BUTTE, Mont.) –Log Gulch Campground on Holter Lake is currently closed as engineers from the Bureau of Land Management’s Butte Field Office complete a resurfacing project.

Just up the road, the BLM’s Departure Point Campground is also closed while the work is taking place.

Both campgrounds will be closed through Aug. 14. Those hoping to use the campgrounds as a jumping-off place for their Holter Lake adventures should plan accordingly.

In addition, visitors traveling on Beartooth Road on the eastern side of the lake should expect delays as a resurfacing project will also take place on the county road that runs between Log Gulch and Departure Point at this time
