Twin Falls District RAC to meet Wednesday

TWIN FALLS, ID – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) today announced it will hold a meeting of the Twin Falls District Resource Advisory Council (RAC), demonstrating that partnerships and inclusion are vital to managing sustainable, working public lands. The public is welcome to attend the meeting which will occur on Sept. 27 at the BLM Twin Falls District Office, 2878 Addison Ave. E. from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Planned agenda items at the meeting include an overview of the 2017 fire season, the potential uses for Unmanned Aircraft Systems in resource management, travel management planning, Cedar Fields Environmental Impact Statement update and field office updates.
“We receive valuable input from our RAC members who represent diverse interests ranging from energy development and livestock grazing to dispersed recreation and historic and archaeological interests,” said Twin Falls District Manager Mike Courtney, “their feedback helps us to make better informed decisions when it comes to on the ground resource management of public lands.”
A half-hour comment period, during which the public may address the RAC, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Depending on the number of people wishing to comment and time available, the amount of time for individual oral comments may be limited.
Resource Advisory Councils are critical in assisting the BLM in continuing to be a good neighbor in the communities we serve. The 15-member RAC provides advice and recommendations to the BLM on resource and land management issues within the BLM Twin Falls District Office.
