Terek Fire 30 percent contained

WORLAND, Wyoming - The Terek fire, located northeast of Worland, Wyoming, exhibited active fire behavior Monday night and is now approximately 36,000 acres burning in sage and grass.
Over 120 personnel, four Single Engine Air Tankers, two Heavy Air Tankers, one Type 1 Helicopter, one Type 3 Helicopter, and two Air Attack Platforms are currently working the fire along with numerous ground resources.
High temperatures, with gusty wind conditions are expected for today. Federal, state, and county firefighters continue to work on constructing the fire perimeter and limiting the potential fire threat to individuals and private property. Ground crews are in place to protect any threatened structures and no structures have been reported lost at this time.
Road closure: Highway 31 between Manderson, Wyoming and Hyattville, Wyoming is open only to residents in the area and has been closed to all through traffic at this time. The closure is in place to ensure the protection of the public and fire personnel.
No Fly Zone: Aerial operations are ongoing, please refrain from flying drones in the area. Remember, if you fly, we can’t.
The Terek fire was reported on Sunday night July 8, to the Cody Dispatch Center at 11:02 p.m. The fire is located NE of Worland, Wyoming in Washakie County, North of Hwy 16 and South of Hwy. 31 mostly on BLM land. It was originally three smaller lightning-caused fires which burned together.
