CASPER, Wyo. – Experience the life of a pioneer this weekend at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center with living history reenactors, live music, and more.

The Pony Express National Historic Trail annual re-ride sets the stage for the weekend as it passes through Casper on Friday, June 10. The rider will stop at the Trails Center at approximately 1:10 p.m. before continuing the journey west with mail in tow. Saturday and Sunday, the Trails Center welcomes back living history presenters to showcase pioneer life along the trail. Military and civilian reenactors will be at the Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 11 and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 12. The Trails Center pioneer camp will be brought to life by the Merchant Family, performing pioneer music and participating in the living history reenactments. Join us to learn hands-on about the travelers of the mid-1800s and the soldiers who protected them.

If you are looking for something faster-paced, the National Historic Trails Center Foundation is hosting its second annual Trailblazin’ 5k Fun Run/Walk on June 11. Experience the historic trails in a unique way as you speed by mountain men, cavalry, and other pioneers along the course.
