Southwest Resource Advisory Council to meet Aug. 19

MONTROSE, Colo. - The Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest Resource Advisory Council will meet at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the Gunnison County Fairground Building, 275 S Spruce St # A, Gunnison, CO 81230.

The meeting, which is open to the public, includes a public comment period at 11:30 a.m.  Individuals who want to make a statement during the public comment period should register with the BLM by sending an email tosborders@blm.gov by Wednesday, Aug. 17. Speakers should also submit a written copy of their statement at the meeting for the administrative record. 

Depending on the number of speakers, the RAC may limit the length of presentations.

  • Tres Rios Field Office Master Leasing Plan
  • District Realignment
  • Uncompahgre Field Office Resource Management Plan Overview
  • Bull Mountain Master Development Plan Update

The Southwest RAC is one of three advisory councils to BLM Colorado. Composed of 15 members appointed by the Secretary of the Interior, individuals serving in each RAC represent diverse public land interests, ranging from environmental to local government to commercial activity.
