Shotgun Creek Recreation Site Offers Year Round Access

Springfield, Ore. – Beginning January 1, 2017, the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Shotgun Creek Recreation Site will offer year round access. Visitors will be able to enjoy the site’s picnic tables and restrooms throughout the year. "With year-round access, the BLM will be able to better meet the ongoing demand at Shotgun," said Bill O’Sullivan, Upper Willamette Field Office Manager.
The new hours are listed below:
January 1 – March 31 | Open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. |
April 1 – June 9 | Open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. |
June 10 – September 17 | Open 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. |
September 18 - October 31 | Open 8:30 a.m.– 7:00 p.m. |
November 1 – December 21 | Open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. |
Shotgun Creek Recreation Site, located approximately 16 miles northeast of Springfield, OR, offers a variety of recreation activities including hiking, picnicking, seasonal swimming, open-field activities, volleyball, and more. Reservations for the site’s two group shelters are available by contacting the Springfield Interagency Office of the Northwest Oregon District at (541)683-6600.
