Shoshone, Id.—The Shoshone Field Office is initiating public review of the King to Wood River 138kV Transmission Line Rebuild, (DOI-BLM-ID-T030-2014-0007-EA) Environmental Assessment (EA). The public comment period will end January 19, 2016. The purpose of the review period is to provide all interested parties and the public an opportunity to review the EA and provide feedback before the Decision Record is signed.

The King to Wood River 138kV Transmission Line Rebuild EA can be found in electronic form at the BLM’s e-planning website.

Essentially, the EA was prepared to analyze the potential environmental impacts of the proposal from Idaho Power Company to renew and amend their existing right-of-way (ROW) grant. The proposed action includes rebuilding the existing 138kV transmission line, widening the existing ROW width, and authorizing existing roads and construction of new service roads in addition to a few other components.

For assistance in locating the proposal, including obtaining a hard copy directly – or to provide comments, please contact Codie Martin, Shoshone Field Manager, 208-732-7227 or cmartin@blm.gov
