NextEra Energy Resources to host virtual public meeting for Dodge Flat II solar project

Carson City, Nev – NextEra Energy Resources will be hosting two virtual public meetings to discuss their proposed Dodge Flat II solar and energy storage project on Thurs., May 13, and Tues, May 18. This project would be located next to the existing Dodge Flat Solar facility in the Dodge Flat area of unincorporated Washoe County.
NextEra Energy Resources has applied to BLM for a 30-year grant. Construction is anticipated to last 24 months and will encompass approximately 495 acres of public lands and up to 1,500 acres of private lands. This project proposes an additional 200-megawatts of alternating current solar photovoltaic generation and energy storage to the existing Dodge Flat Solar facility.
The purpose of these public meetings is to provide information on the proposed project and to solicit public input which will be incorporated into NextEra Energy Resources’ application for Variance Approval as required by the Solar Energy Development Programmatic EIS Record of Decision https://solareis.anl.gov/. Topics will include the prior Dodge Flat project, discussion of size, capacity, structures, timeline, and environmental concerns that are known at this time.
