Lakeview, Ore. – National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the nation’s largest single-day volunteer event for public lands. Established in 1994, NPLD celebrates the connection between people and public lands, inspires environmental stewardship, and encourages open space for education, recreation, and health benefits. This year, National Public Lands Day falls on September 26, 2020.

While the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Lakeview District will not be hosting any work projects this year, there are still many ways for the public to participate.

  • Visit a recreation site for free. September 26 is a fee-free day. Both Topsy Campground and Gerber Recreation Area are free for day use. · Take part in a volunteer work project. Visit neefusa.org/npld-event-search to view a list of National Public Lands Day events near you.
