The Bureau of Land Management’s Dillon Field Office will temporarily close 15 dispersed campsites along Bear Trap Road North and South May 15-25 as crews upgrade and repair parking lots to improve visitors’ recreation experience as well as reduce the potential for erosion impacts to cultural and natural resources.(DILLON, Mont.) – Some campsites along the scenic Madison River in southwest Montana will get long-overdue improvements this summer, resulting in short-term closures.

Throughout the summer, other BLM campgrounds along the Madison River will see short-term closures of 48-72 hours as Dillon Field Office employees treat non-native invasive noxious species in and around the campgrounds. The closures will occur on weekdays, most likely starting on Mondays and Tuesdays. Signs will be posted at each site, detailing the dates and times of the closures.

For more information, call the Dillon Field Office at (406) 683-8000.
