Lonny Bagley Hired as BLM Colorado Deputy State Director for Energy, Lands and Minerals

Lonny Bagley started as the Bureau of Land Management Colorado Deputy State Director for Energy, Lands and Minerals on Feb. 27.“I believe BLM Colorado will benefit from Lonny’s commitment to federal land management and varied experience at different levels of the agency. We’re excited to welcome him to Colorado,” Helen Hankins, BLM Colorado State Director said.Bagley began his government career in the North Dakota Field Office as an Oil and Gas Inspector in 1984. In 1989, Lonny moved to the Montana State Office as the Inspections and Enforcement Specialist. He also served on many detail assignments and was selected to assist the Hungarian Government in developing an oil and gas program in 1993. From 1993-2005, Bagley served as the BLM’s National Fluid Minerals Inspection and Enforcement Specialist based out of Billings, MT, before becoming the BLM North Dakota Field Office Field Manager in 2005.“My wife Lori and I are excited to move to Colorado. I look forward to engaging in the challenges associated the multiple uses of public lands in the state,” said Bagley.Outside of his federal service, Bagley has an extensive oil and gas industry background as a heavy equipment operator, roustabout and a field superintendent. He is a North Dakota native and grew up on a family ranch in Bowman County.
