ROSEBURG, OR – Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to share some of your amazing photos taken on public lands! Whether it's photos of wild and scenic rivers or recreation areas and trails, we want to share your photos and stories about exploring the great outdoors. This year we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and National Trails Act! The Roseburg District, Bureau of Land Management and the Umpqua National Forest are hosting the photo contest as part of a multi-agency exhibit at the 23rd Annual Sportsmen's & Outdoor Recreation Show held February 15 to 17, 2019, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
Photos must be received no later than Friday, January 18, 2019. Contestants may enter up to three photos for each of four categories:
- Fall Colors on Public Lands
- Water, Waterfalls and Wilderness
- Wildlife along Trails and in the Wilderness
- Pets on Trails
Contest Rules:
- Photos must be taken on, or of, public lands in Roseburg District BLM or Umpqua National Forest within the last two years.
- Submit digital images to crossbac@blm.gov. No hard copies will be accepted.
- Photos may be color or black and white.
- Photographs may NOT be enhanced digitally except for cropping and contrast.
- Submit up to 3 photos per category (12 photo maximum). Categories: (1) Fall Colors on Public Lands, (2) Water, Waterfalls and Wilderness, (3) Wildlife along Trails and in the Wilderness, (4) Pets on Trails.
- Please include name, telephone number, email address, location, and category selected with submission.
- Photo entries must be submitted no later than Friday, January 18, 2019, at 8 a.m.
- Photos will be voted on by people attending the 2019 Douglas County Sportsmen’s Show.
- Winners will be notified and posted on the agencies’ websites.
- The photos become property of the event organizers and may be used by the sponsoring agencies in future publications, websites or programs.
- Agencies reserve the right to limit the number of photos displayed for voting due to space constraints of the booth.
- Contest is open to novice and amateur photographers.

In connection with submitting the text, image(s), (the Work) to the Oregon-Washington Bureau of Land Management and the Umpqua National Forest, upon submission of the Work, I, the provider, hereby grant a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive worldwide license to freely use, display, reproduce, create derivative works, and distribute the Work in any media, now in existence or created in the future, at no cost. I hereby warrant and represent that I have the full right, power, and authority to grant the license herein and that use of the work will not violate any rights of any kind or nature whatsoever of any third party. I agree to indemnify and hold harmless BLM, USFS and/or the U.S. Government from and against any and all claims and liabilities incurred as a result of violation of trade secrets, copyright, rights of privacy or publicity arising in connection with the submitted content.
