Grandview Ridge, Animas City Mountain and Twin Buttes Reopen for Public Access

DURANGO, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management will reopen the Grandview Ridge and Animas City Mountain areas and the City of Durango will reopen Twin Buttes open space for public access on Monday, April 1.
“Every year the BLM accesses the conditions and closes the areas to recreational use for wildlife habitat protection,” said Connie Clementson, BLM Tres Rios field manager. “We appreciate the public’s support and adherence to the closures, and we look forward to seeing people enjoying the trails near Durango.”
The reopened areas include Sale Barn and Big Canyon trailheads off U.S. Highway 160, South Rim trail, Telegraph trail, Sidewinder trail, the trails on BLM lands accessed from the Carbon Junction trail, the trails on in the upper portion of Animas City Mountain and trails in Twin Buttes.
