GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—The Bureau of Land Management’s Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area Advisory Council will meet at 3 p.m. Apr. 3, at the Mesa County Courthouse Annex Multipurpose Room, 544 Rood Ave., Grand Junction, Colo.
The meeting is open to the public, and one 30-minute public comment period is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Depending on the number of speakers, the council may limit the length of presentations. Speakers are encouraged to submit a written copy of their statement at the meeting for the administrative record.
The BLM expects to release a draft Resource Management Plan (RMP) for the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area for public review in late April 2013.
Agenda topics for this meeting include:
- Update from the BLM on the development of the draft RMP.
- Discussion of the council’s role in the upcoming public comment period.
The 10-member citizen advisory council was formed in December 2010 to assist the BLM as it develops the management plan for the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area in western Colorado. Each member was appointed by the Secretary of the Interior and represents a broad range of public land interests, ranging from environmental to local government to commercial activity.
