Crews Expect to Finish Mop-up Stages on Bull Gulch Fire by Tuesday

CAÑON CITY, Colo. –Fire crews continue the mop-up stages on the Bull Gulch Fire. Containment is at 80 percent, full containment is expected by Tuesday night. The 76 acre fire is located nine miles northeast of Cotopaxi in Fremont County. Crews are slowly being released to go assist on other fires as needed. One crew and one engine will remain on the Bull Gulch Fire.
A pre-evacuation notice that was put in place on Wednesday for approximately 30 residences within a three-mile radius of Snow Drift Lane was lifted on Saturday morning. No structures were lost as a result of this fire.
The Texas Creek Trail system is now open for recreation.
The cause of the Bull Gulch Fire is under investigation.
