LAS VEGAS – As part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s America the Beautiful campaign to conserve, connect and restore 30 percent of public land by 2030, the BLM Southern Nevada District Office is hosting an information forum to gather input from public land users to prioritize areas for restoration projects.

“We look forward to feedback and input on this GIS tool that will identify restoration opportunities that have the greatest benefit to threatened and endangered species and migratory birds,” said Angie Bulletts, Southern Nevada District Manager. “The input from the public and our partners in local, state, federal and Tribal governments will provide critical information to support BLM’s review of which areas are ideal for restoration projects.”

The virtual information forum will be held Wednesday, August 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. PST. To register, please visit https://empsi.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_HHiGR6liTAmov9va9ZWARQ. The meeting will be recorded and posted on the BLM Nevada YouTube.

The information forum will include brief presentation on the map that was developed to prioritize district restoration projects followed by a question-and-answer portion and finally a comment period.

Comments will be accepted until September 16, 2022 and will be incorporated into the restoration study. After projects are prioritized, environmental analysis, including additional opportunities for public comment, will be conducted for each project.

Those unable to attend the meeting, or who wish to provide comments outside of information forums, may email BLM_NV_SNDO_RestorationMap@blm.gov or comment using the form at the end of this website: SNDO Mapping Restoration Opportunities. You may comment until September 16, 2022.

Before including your address, phone number, email, address, or other personal identifying information in your comment, you should be aware that your entire comment – including your personal identifying information – may be made publicly available at any time. While you can ask us in your comment to withhold your personal identifying information from public review, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.
