The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Utah Resource Advisory Council (RAC) and Recreation Resource Advisory Council (RRAC) will host a meeting and conference call on Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., MST. Recently, the BLM-Utah Executive Leadership Team collaborated to produce a Draft Program Development and Budget Strategic Plan that defines the BLM-Utah organizational vision and provides an important starting point for meeting future challenges. During the meeting and conference call, the RAC will discuss and provide comments on the draft plan. The RRAC will hear presentations regarding proposed fee collection. The BLM is proposing to increase camping, day-use and group-reservation picnic fees at the Calf Creek Recreation Area and Deer Creek Campground on the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The Moab Field Office is proposing to collect expanded amenity fees at the Bitter Creek, Westwater, Hideout, Cowskin, Fish Ford, and Swasey Rapid Campgrounds. The U.S. Forest Service is proposing to collect fees at the Miller Flat Campground and Orange Olsen Dwelling and Bunkhouse. Additional presentations for the RAC will also be given on the Utah Greater Sage-Grouse Draft Land Use Plan Amendment and Environmental Impact Statement and the newly-created State of Utah Office of Outdoor Recreation. Those attending in person should meet at the BLM-Utah State Office, Monument Conference Room (fifth floor), 440 West 200 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
