The Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Resource Advisory Council (RAC)/Recreation Resource Advisory Council (RecRAC) will host a meeting and conference call Tuesday, June 23, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Agenda topics include: the introduction of new members, an overview of BLM-Utah issues and planning efforts, Eastern Lake Mountains target shooting plan amendment, and an overview of the draft Connecting with Communities recreation strategy. Fee proposals from the BLM and U.S. Forest Service (USFS) will also be presented. The St. George Field Office proposes to increase recreational use permit fees for the public's use of the Baker Dam Recreation Area and the Salt Lake Field Office proposes to increase camping fees for the public's use of its campgrounds. The USFS proposes to bring campgrounds/cabins into the cabin rental program and increase fees on several sites.Those attending in person must meet at the BLM-Utah State Office, Monument Conference Room, 440 West 200 South, Fifth Floor, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101. The FIRS is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Replies are provided during normal business hours.All meetings are open to the public; however, transportation, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the participating public.The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, the most of any federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation. The BLM's mission is to manage and conserve the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations under our mandate of multiple-use and sustained yield. In fiscal year 2014, the BLM generated $5.2 billion in receipts from public lands.


The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation.
