BLM Southwest District Resource Advisory Council to meet February 7

Montrose, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management’s Southwest District Resource Advisory Council will hold a meeting on February 7 at the Tres Rios Field Office, 29211 State Highway CO-184, Dolores, CO 81323 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public, and participants unable to attend in person can join via the Zoom platform. “The Southwest District Resource Advisory Council’s unique perspective serves the BLM well as we work to ensure the health and productivity of southwest Colorado’s public lands,” said District Manager Stephanie Connolly. “I want to express my gratitude to the council members and commend them for their continued commitment to public service.”
Planned agenda items include updates from the three Southwest District field offices and a discussion on livestock grazing allotments in Tres Rios Field Office. A public comment period is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Individuals who wish to make a statement during the comment period are encouraged to submit a written copy for the administrative record. The Resource Advisory Council will also attend a field trip in Canyons of the Ancients National Monument on February 6. All 15-member Resource Advisory Councils in Colorado are forums for providing advice and recommendations to the BLM on various resource and land management issues. The Southwest Resource Advisory Council advises the BLM Colorado Southwest District, consisting of the Gunnison, Tres Rios field, and Uncompahgre field offices.
