Carson City, Nev – Longroad Energy Management, LLC will be hosting two virtual public meetings to discuss the proposed Artemesia solar photovoltaic solar generation and energy storage project on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, and Thursday. February 1, 2024. This project would be in Lyon County approximately seven miles northwest of Yerington, NV.

Artemesia Solar, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Longroad Energy Management, LLC, has applied for a 30-year right-of-way grant. Construction is anticipated to last 18 to 24 months and will include two solar generating facility areas with a collector line encompassing approximately 4,368 acres of public lands. The project proposes 300-megawatt alternating current solar photovoltaic generation and energy storage with a 345kV generation interconnection transmission line that would connect to a proposed substation to be constructed and owned by NV Energy located approximately 2.25 miles south of the project area.

The purpose of this stakeholder meeting is to provide information on the proposed project and to solicit stakeholder and public input for variance approval as required by the Solar Energy Development Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement Record of Decision https://solareis.anl.gov/.

The BLM considers applications for solar energy development in variance areas on a case-by-case basis through the variance process prior to initiating compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA.) Topics will include an overview of the project, discussion of size, capacity, structures, timeline, and environmental concerns that are known at this time.
