LAS VEGAS – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Las Vegas Field Office today announced it is seeking public comment on Clark County Real Property Management’s proposal to lease and subsequently convey approximately 10 acres of public land for a public park and related facilities. The parcel is located near the intersection of Patrick Lane and Tee Pee Lane in the southwestern part of the Las Vegas Valley.

The planned park would provide paved walking trails, a splash pad, four multiage playground areas, pre-manufactured restrooms with water bottle fillers, eight shade structures, four turf fenced dog runs, a sport/exercise equipment area, a trash enclosure, large turf areas, trees, planters, typical desert landscaping, paved walking trails, concrete sidewalks, a paved street and 53-space parking lot, park lighting, and utilities for direct support of the proposed park.

“The BLM is pleased to have a role in the development of parks that will help the local community grow,” said Shonna Dooman, the BLM Las Vegas Field Manager. “The action will help Clark County Real Property Management increase recreational opportunities to local and future residents in the southwest Las Vegas Valley.”

The Notice of Realty Action for a Recreation and Public Purposes (R&PP) Act Classification will publish in the Federal Register on October 18 which will initiate a 45-day public comment period ending on December 3, 2021. Interested parties may submit comments regarding the proposed decision for the R&PP lease/conveyance application and plan of development, whether the BLM followed proper administrative procedures in reaching the decision to lease and convey under the R&PP Act, or any other factor related to the suitability of the land for R&PP classification. Written comments about the proposed R&PP lease and conveyance (serialized N-97771) should be mailed to: Las Vegas Field Office, Assistant Field Manager, 4701 N. Torrey Pines Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89130 or faxed to 702-515-5010.
