BLM seeks public comment on natural gas development proposal west of DeBeque

SILT, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comments on an oil and gas development proposal west of DeBeque, Colo.
Black Hills Plateau Production’s DeBeque Southwest Master Development Plan proposes up to 104 horizontal wells on 13 new well pads over the next three to five years. Black Hills estimates that this project could produce up to 988 billion cubic feet of natural gas over the 20-year life of the project.
The project area is accessed via Mesa County V.2 Road. The project boundary includes approximately 32,600 acres of federal and private lands.
The BLM is asking the public to identify comments, concerns and issues before it begins drafting the environmental assessment of this proposal.
Copies of the proposal and maps are available for review at the BLM Colorado River Valley Field Office and online athttp://on.doi.gov/1IpxAI8.
