BLM Seeks Public Comment to Lease Land to Clark County School District for an Elementary School

LAS VEGAS – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Las Vegas Field Office today announced it is seeking public comment on a proposal to lease and/or subsequently convey approximately 12.5 acres of public land to Clark County School District for an elementary school to be located at the northwest corner of West Torino Avenue and South Juliano Road in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada. The elementary school will consist of one and/or two story building classrooms, sports field(s), playgrounds, parking lot, and related ancillary structures. Public comments will be accepted for 45 days until May 23, 2016.

The Notice of Realty Action for a Recreation and Public Purposes Act (R&PP) Classification was published in today’s Federal Register. Interested parties may submit comments regarding the proposed decision for the R&PP application and plan of development, whether the BLM followed proper administrative procedures in reaching the decision to lease and/or convey under the R&PP Act, or any other factor not directly related to the suitability of the land for R&PP use.
