TONOPAH, NV – The Bureau of Land Management, Tonopah Field Office, has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Crow Springs Project Mine Plan of Operations, located approximately 24 miles northwest of Tonopah in Esmeralda County, Nevada.

The comment period will be from May 15 to June 15.

The EA covers the SR Minerals Inc. proposal to construct, operate, reclaim, and close an open-pit perlite and pozzolan mine within a 595-acre project area. Also in the EA are two rights-of-way for the widening of an existing access road and creation of a well pad to use an existing groundwater well for water needs. The entire project would create approximately 270 acres of total ground disturbance.

The EA can be viewed on the BLM NEPA Register website at https://go.usa.gov/xvF2H. Comments can be submitted online at the NEPA Register site; mailed to Tonopah Field Office, P.O. Box 911, Tonopah NV 89049; or emailed to: BLM_NV_BMDO_TFO_NonRenewable@blm.gov.
