BLM seeks public comment on commercial hunting permits

SAGUACHE, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management San Luis Valley Field Office is seeking public input on an environmental analysis for special recreation permits for commercial big game and mountain lion hunting outfitters.
The San Luis Valley Field Office recently completed a Field Office-level Special Recreation Permit policy, which adheres to both BLM state and national SRP guidelines. One of the most significant proposed changes to the unit’s SRP process pertains to commercial big game and mountain lion hunting outfitters.
This EA is being prepared to analyze the opportunity for commercial guided big game and mountain lion hunting outfitters to operate on BLM-managed land within Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Game Management Unit(s) in their entirety, and seasons of use.
