ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management Rock Springs Field Office will replace the Sweetwater Campground Bridge starting Aug. 29, 2018. The campground will be closed to all traffic during construction because there will be no access across the bridge.

The contractor will mobilize equipment for construction during the week of August 27, and work is scheduled to begin Thursday, September 4, and last for about six weeks. The bridge will be closed for the duration of the construction period. The BLM will post road and campground closure signs while the bridge work is completed.

Visitors can access the Sweetwater Campground by turning onto County Road 453 at the exit 1 mile south of the South Past rest area on State Highway 28, then turning east on BLM Road 4105/Sweetwater Gap Ranch Road for 8 miles. The bridge is located at the entrance to the campsite.
