The joint meeting of the Nevada Bureau of Land Management's three Resource Advisory Councils (RACs) will be held March 23-24 in the Bonanza Room of the Nugget Resort Casino, 1100 Nugget Ave., Sparks, NV from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. both days. A public comment period is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on March 24.The agenda and additional information is posted. Written comments can also be submitted to RAC Coordinator Chris Rose at crose@blm.gov or by mail at: 2016 RAC Comments, Attn: Chris Rose, 1340 Financial Blvd., Reno, NV 89502. Comments submitted by mail should be received by March 22.The Sierra Front-Northwestern Great Basin RAC, the Northeastern Great Basin RAC, and the Mojave-Southern Great Basin RAC each have 15-members that represent a variety of public land interests. The Nevada RACs advise the Secretary of the Interior, through the BLM Nevada State Director, on a variety of planning and management issues associated with public land management in Nevada.


The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation.
