CEDARVILE, Calif.  –  The Bureau of Land Management’s Surprise Field Station office in Cedarville will be closed to drop in visitors on Fridays until further notice, while a lobby remodeling project is underway.  Members of the BLM staff will still be available by phone at 530-279-6101 and are available to meet on Fridays for prearranged appointments.

All staff members of the Applegate Field Office based in Alturas are now working from the Surprise Field Station office or working remotely while the Alturas office is also undergoing remodeling.

The Applegate Field Office manages about 1.8 million acres of public land, much of it in Western Nevada.

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land located primarily in 12 western states, including Alaska, on behalf of the American people. The BLM also administers 700 million acres of sub-surface mineral estate throughout the nation.
