BLM to Offer 83 Parcels in the High Plains District First Quarter 2018 Competitive Oil and Gas Lease Sale

In its ongoing effort to provide opportunities for responsible energy development, support the creation of jobs, and facilitate positive economic impacts to local communities, the Bureau of Land Management today released its initial environmental analysis for the High Plains District First Quarter 2018 competitive oil and gas lease sale. The document is available for a 30-day public comment period.
The lease sale includes 83 parcels and approximately 48,153 acres of federal mineral estate within the High Plains District, which is comprised of the Buffalo, Casper and Newcastle Field Offices. The Draft Environmental Assessment studies the potential offering of 30 parcels totaling 15,274 acres in the Buffalo Field Office, 47 parcels totaling 31,838 acres in the Casper Field Office and 6 parcels totaling 1,041 acres in the Newcastle Field Office. The BLM will hold the lease sale online via www.energynet.com.

The public comments and information submitted regarding this project including names, email addresses and street addresses of the respondents will be available for public review and disclosure at the district office during regular business hours (7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) weekdays, except holidays.
