Bureau of Land Management Montana/Dakotas today announced the addition of Melodie A. Lloyd as director of communications to its State office in Billings. Lloyd was mostly recently a public affairs specialist with the BLM's headquarters office in Washington, D.C. BLM Public Affairs Specialist Mary Apple acted in the position for several months and returns to her duties with the State office.“Mel comes to us with a well-rounded knowledge of natural resource experience, both at the national and field levels of the BLM," State Director Jamie Connell said. “Her insight and expertise will make her a valuable member of the BLM's State Leadership Team and enhance our ability to bring awareness to the good things we do for public lands and the people of Montana and the Dakotas."Lloyd has also worked as a BLM public affairs specialist and fire information officer in western Colorado, supporting several field offices and two interagency fire management units. Prior to that, she worked at the BLM's National Operations Center in Denver.Lloyd, a native of rural Colorado, received her bachelor's degree in Organizational Development from the Regis University College for Professional Studies in Denver.
