BLM meeting features Montrose area recreation projects

MONTROSE, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management Uncompahgre Field Office invites the public to a recreation coordination meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, at the Holiday Inn Express (1391 S. Townsend Ave.) in Montrose, Colorado.
“The goal of the meeting is to bring users and agencies together to discuss recreation projects on public lands surrounding Montrose,” said Julie Jackson, BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner. “Collaboration like this will help the BLM prioritize projects and leverage funding to assist with recreation on public lands.”
The meeting will also highlight information on the National Environmental Policy Act to help the public understand the process used for project analysis, as well as a presentation about the importance of seasonal closures by Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
