BLM Lander Opens Portion of Shoshone Lake Road

LANDER, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management Lander Field Office will partially open the Shoshone Lake Road on June 30. The road remains closed by the U.S. Forest Service from the base of Cyclone Pass to Shoshone Lake because of drifted snow and snowmelt.
The BLM reminds the public that the Shoshone Lake Road passes through several private land parcels. Leaving the road in these locations requires landowner permission.
In addition, access across private land within the Mexican Creek Wildlife Habitat Management Area, managed by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, is allowed from September 1–December 31 only. Accessing these parcels outside of this time period also requires landowner permission.
