BLM Implements New Camping Fees at Little Creek Campground

Salt Lake City—On April 15, 2016, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Salt Lake Field Office will implement new camping fees at the Little Creek Campground in Randolph, Utah. A new single site occupancy fee of $12 per site per night will be charged. Also, a group site located at the pavilion will be available by reservation only for $65 per night. The public will be able to reserve the group site in advance by contacting the Salt Lake Field Office at (801)977-4300. The new fees are commensurate with camping fees charged at similar facilities in the north-central Utah region. All collected fees are used directly for operating costs at the campground such as sanitation, site maintenance, customer service, administration, and law enforcement. The Little Creek Campground is currently managed by the BLM in cooperation with Rich County and the City of Randolph.
The need for new fees developed due to increased operating costs over the years and was identified in the BLM Salt Lake Field Office Campground Business Plan. In November 2014, a 45-day public comment period was announced for the draft Campground Business Plan. No substantive comments were received from the public. On June 23, 2015, the draft business plan and proposed fee increases were presented at a public meeting of the Utah Recreation Resource Advisory Council in Salt Lake City. The proposed fee changes were unanimously approved by council members at the conclusion of the meeting.
