DOLORES, Colo. – The public is invited to join Canyons of the Ancients National Monument staff and volunteers for a mid-morning tea and poster unveiling on Tuesday, June 16, at the Anasazi Heritage Center plaza at 10 a.m.

The Canyons of the Ancients vintage poster is one of three pieces of art being presented to the public to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Bureau of Land Management’s National Conservation Lands.

“The vintage posters help remind us of our connection to our public lands while celebrating these unique landscapes that are managed for the public’s benefit,” said Marietta Eaton, Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and Anasazi Heritage Center Manager.

The event also features keynote speakers including the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument’s archaeologist, Vince Macmillan and curator, Bridget Ambler who will share their perspectives on the significance of the monument and the Anasazi Heritage Center.

In addition to the Canyons of the Ancients poster, the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument and Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse held events featuring posters of these remarkable National Conservation Lands.

Copies of the poster are available for those attending the reception on June 16.  Additionally, the public can request a copy by contacting the Anasazi Heritage Center at 970-882-5600.
