BLM extends comment period on an oil and gas Environmental Assessment near Somerset, Colorado

MONTROSE, Colo. – The Bureau of Land Management Uncompahgre Field Office in cooperation with the United States Forest Service Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests has extended the deadline for the public to submit comments on the 5 Pad/25 Well preliminary Environmental Assessment until Tuesday, August 4.
Gunnison Energy LLC and SG Interests I, Ltd, submitted proposals to develop up to 25 Federal natural gas wells on five well pads. The proposal also includes up to 32 acres needed for associated access roads and pipelines north of Somerset on a mix of Federal and private surface land. The preliminary EA provides an environmental analysis including direct, indirect and cumulative impacts in compliance with both agencies’ National Environmental Policy Act requirements.
