Kristen Lenhardt

Kristen Lenhardt has been acting Chief of Staff since March 2025. Lenhardt rejoined the BLM as the Deputy Assistant Director for Communications after two and a half years as the Director of Public Affairs at the USDA National Agricultural Statistic Service (NASS). Ms. Lenhardt has previously worked at the BLM field, district, and state level, beginning as a public affairs specialist and eventually becoming the Wyoming Deputy State Director for Communications. In addition to her public affairs experience, Kristen has worked closely with Congressional Members and staff and is known as a consensus builder. Lenhardt has her MS in Public Communication and Technology from Colorado State University and her BA in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Wyoming.
