Kim Prill

BLM Oregon-Washington Acting State Director

Kim Okragly Prill started her career with the Bureau of Land Management in Billings, Montana, as a GS-01 high school student intern. She continued working for the BLM while attending college and, upon her graduation, she was offered a permanent position at the Montana/Dakotas State Office. Prill’s federal career spans over 35 years, working in a variety of positions and capacities that touch almost every aspect of public land management. She’s taken on leadership roles, special initiatives, and projects that have advanced the important multiple-use mission of the Bureau.

Prior to becoming the Acting State Director for BLM Oregon/Washington, Kim served as Acting State Director for BLM Idaho. Her other previous leadership positions include Associate State Director for BLM Nevada; Deputy State Director for Energy, Minerals, and Realty for BLM Montana/Dakotas; Branch Chief for Realty, Lands, and Renewable Energy; and Acting District Manager for BLM Eastern Montana/Dakotas District in Miles City. She also served as Congressional Fellow to the Senate Energy and Natural Resource Committee in Washington, DC.

Born and raised in Montana, Kim grew up on a working cattle ranch at the base of the Absaroka-Beartooth Mountains. She moved to Billings and attended Rocky Mountain College and Montana State University-Billings where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Kim enjoys traveling to spend time with her three adult children, exploring outdoors, and painting.
