WORLAND, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management Worland Field Office will host a National Public Lands Day at the Wardel/Harrington Reservoirs. This year, the BLM invites everyone to give back to public lands by participating in restoration projects.

September 6, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wardel/Harrington Reservoirs Project: removing approximately 1,100 feet of woven wire fencing and replacing with single strand wire providing relief for wildlife. Reconstruct bird boxes to be installed along the same fence line being repaired to provide updated nesting structure. Standard trash clean-up of the most frequented areas along the shorelines and access ramps of the reservoirs primarily used by recreational users.

Participants should wear close toed shoes appropriate for field work and bring leather gloves, lunch/snacks and water. All supplies and tools will be provided by the BLM.

“Volunteer opportunities like this are a great way to make valuable contributions to public lands,” said BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner Cullen Hardy. “Days like these are so great for spending the day outdoors and partnering with members of our community.”
