Event Description

CASPER, Wyo. – Visit the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center on August 15 and 16 as the Trails Center welcomes back The Platte Bridge Company for a special living history event. Experience life as both a frontier soldier and pioneer during this two-day encampment.

Visitors are encouraged to participate in several presentations including military drills and tactics, frontier medicine, 1850’s quill penmanship and period dance performances.

Events Schedule

Friday, August 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • 9:30 a.m. - Flag Raising Ceremony
  • 10 a.m. - Military Drills and Tactics presentation
  • 12 p.m. - 1850s Quill Penmanship
  • 2 p.m. - Period Dance performance
  • All Day - Dutch-oven cooking 

Saturday, August 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

  • 9:30 a.m. - Flag Raising Ceremony
  • 10 a.m. - Frontier Medicine
  • 12 p.m. - Military Camp Life presentations
  • 2 p.m. - Period Dance performance
  • All Day - Dutch-oven cooking
