Trails Center to host frontier basketmaking workshop

Casper, Wyo. – Join the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 2 in the lobby as local historian Jean Smart shares the techniques of basketmaking.
As a form of art, Smart will share the craft of creating baskets by weaving pliable materials. This basketmaking, also known as basket weaving or basketry, can be used for many different purposes as Jean will demonstrate throughout the day. If you have ever wanted to study more about this art form, here is your opportunity to learn with very simple materials and techniques.
